Khol's Haul

Most of my friends don't believe me that I constantly shop at Khol's. I get such a laugh from their reaction when I answer their question on where I get certain tops they gush about. Truth is, now that Kohl's has lines with Jennifer Lopes, Elle, Lauren Conrad, and Vera Wang, you can find some great fashionable items there all the time. You have to really walk around the store, but there are some great everyday gems that can be found. And most importantly, with all the sale and coupon deals they always have, it makes it absolutely worth it to take a trip there.

I went to Khol's last week to find a top to go to a Journey concert, I ended buying and wearing the coral Lauren Conrad top (#6), but went home with the all the other tops too lol. I posted some pics of me in some of the tops and a caption telling you where I wore them at the end.

Overall, I'm very happy with my finds! They are comfortable and perfect for a relaxed office setting like the one I work at:

on sale: $7.99 (org. $14)
**Note: the pictures do a terrible job of showing the fit of the tees, they actually fit quite nicely.
I am wearing the floral one today so I took a selfie for you to see it on me. See end of post.

on sale: $14.99 (org. $30)

on sale: $17.99 (org. $38)

on sale: $17.99 (org. $36)

on sale: $23.99 (org. $48)

on sale: $26.99 (org. $36)

I don't have photos of me in every top, mainly because I am terrible at remembering to take pictures, but here are some of them being used:

The last one (stripped Elle top #7), I wore on my birthday. I was so toasted,
I forgot to take a pic of me in it but my friend provided me with this pic.
Please excuse my drunken mess lol

The white/floral Lauren Corand top (#5) I wore to an art show, this
is the only picture I have from that day:

You can't really see the top at all, but here is my boyfriend
and I at the Journey concert!! If you have never seen them live, I
highly suggest you do!! They are phenomenal!!!!!

I REALLY DESPISE taking selfies!!! You can tell by my face in this pic that I
am NOT enjoying it lol. Regardless, here is a pic of me in the floral Sonoma Tee (#2). I will
actually be going to see a Journey cover band after work so I will hopefully remember to take photos
so I can post them!

This post was much longer than I anticipated! Nevertheless, thank you so much for reading! don't forget to comment with questions or opinions! Also check out my Instagram page for more pics: marita_soler

Post on Buzzfeed

Just like every other person on social media, I am addicted to Buzzfeed quizes. Anything from "What kind of tree are you?" to "What celebrity couple are you?", I HAVE TO KNOW!! I don't even want to know the total amount of time I have spent taking those damn things.

However, Buzzfeed offers a great deal of other information that I find useful. It is my go to when I have to find something concise in order to inform myself of things going on in the world. But overall it is a great resource for all sorts of ideas and thoughts.

Today, I found a post on tips for short/curvy girls that I thought was very interesting! With the exception of not using a bat sleeve, I would agree with all of the tips they suggest:

Kate Hubson Style/ Outfit

Normally, I am not a huge fan of Kate Hudson's style. I should clarify that I don't like it for me. She is always impeccably dressed and her style is very much perfect for her very small frame. I, on the other hand, am a woman with curves and love handles. Therefore, I am not suited to wear clothes she can pull off flawlessly.

There are some celebrities who are small and  I can still rip off their style no problem (Jessica Alba, Cameron Diaz, Jessica Biel, Reese Witherspoon, among many more). This is due to the fact that most of the clothes they wear can be adapted to different body shapes.. although, one can argue that any outfit can be recreated to fit your own frame. I guess my point is that when I see Kate's outfits, I don't normally think: "oh yeah, I could so pull off something like that!" Any thoughts or ideas on the topic?

REGARDLESS, I saw this picture online today and thought it would be something cute and fresh for the summer. I loved the pop of color in the shoes and the shape of the dress (or romper? can't really tell!)!!!

Demi Lovato: My make up inspiration.

In a world that seems to be obsessed with Kim Kardashian's make up looks, I personally look to Demi Lovato for inspiration. She is ALWAYS on point. I love how dramatic her make up is, and how easily it can be achieved as everyday looks.

These are some of my favorite looks of hers. I will be recreating them and then posting photos of what I did and what I used. Let me know which ones you guys like:

(psst, may faves are the first and last)

Subtle going out make up

I had girls night a few days ago and decided to go with a more subtle form of glam make up. I was recovering from a stomach flu at the time so I figured I should focus on making myself look healthy rather than trying to create a dramatic look. This is what I went with:

>Eyes- Urban Decay Basics pallet

>Waterline- MAC Eye Kohl in Fascinating

>Foundation- MAC Long Wear foundation in NC40

>Powder- Lancôme Dual Finish Versitile Powder

>Bronzer (used for contouring): MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden to Shop

>Brows- Estée Lauder Pure Color in Blackened Brown

>Mascara- Lancôme Hypnose Doll Lashes in So Black

>Blush- MAC Powder Blush in Melba

>Lips- Sephora Glossy Gloss in Rusted Rose

Fake lashes- idk brand, they were cheap ones I found at the drug store.

Overalls

The 11 year old in me is excited about the new craze over overalls. When I was in the 5th and 6th grade. I had overalls in every color and texture and pattern. And here they are, back again!

No sure if I will be participating in this trend as an adult mainly because my body shape will not flatter the overall lol. As a kid, I didn't have to worry about having my boobs peeking above the top part or making sure the crotch doesn't ride up since my ass has gotten massive.

What do you guys think? is it worth it? should I give it a shot? Ashley and Gwen look killer in them, not sure if I will though...

Ombré

I'm jumping on the ombré wagon a little late, and now my only regret is that I wish I had gotten in earlier because I love my hair!!! What do you guys think of the ombré look?!!

Everyday makeup/my return

I don't know why I keep fading away from blogging. I've been too busy, I guess. Blogging is a huge interest of mine and I miss it every time I go away. I will do everything in my power to stay connected and provide you with the best advice I possibly can.

Here is today's make up look. I was feeling last fall's wine lipstick fad. I didn't want to go too dark as it is summer (although it's been in the 70s/low 80s this week). I added a lighter blush to create some brightness. What do you guys think. Opinions on dark lipstick in the summer?

>BB cream- Garnier Miracle Skin Protector for Oily skin (I mix the light and dark shades to create one that matches my skin tone)

>Powder- Lancôme Dual Finish Versitile Powder

>Eyeliner- MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack

> Brows- Estée Lauder Pure Color in Blackened Brown

>Mascara- Lancôme Definicils in Deep Black

>Blush- Coastal Scents Blush Too Palette (bottom row, second from left- they don't come with names)

>Lips: Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Lip Pencil in Plummy (also wearing mint EOS lip balm. I used the lip liner and added lip balm to blend it through my lips)
