The power of make up

This morning as I went through the daily ritual of putting on make up, it dawned on me just how much you can change your face with good make up technique. I finished my eye shadow and proceeded to contour half of my face. The results were shocking even to a make up addict like myself. Little ray of sunshine

When I came to work today, everyone was all over my LYD (little yellow dress). My coworkers were loving the bright summery color and the shape of the dress. Best part, this dress cost me about $12 at Old Navy!! What do you guys think? You guys approve of bright colors in the summer?

Jewelry

I'm a firm believer in bargain shopping. For this reason, I never buy expensive jewelry or clothes. I love to find good quality items that are on trend in sale racks or even discount stores like TJMaxx or Nordstrom Rack. However, I felt it was time to invest in a universal piece of jewelry that could go with anything. My choice: a watch. So among my collection of forever 21 and H&M jewelry, I now have this amazing gem! I'm in love for sure :)

White teeth!

When I was a junior in high school, I decided to whiten my teeth for my upcoming senior portraits. That was the only time in my life I have had them bleached like that.

Now, being the caffeine junkie that I am, it has been difficult to keep them sparkly white. I recently started using Crest 3D White toothpaste and it helps my teeth stay nice and white even with the 2-3 cups of coffee I drink a day. Therefore, I had to share this little secret! Try out and tell me what you think!!

Styling blogs

So I have recently started following Facebook pages that post outfit ideas.. You can see many of these on Pinterest too, if you follow that. The only issue I have had with these is that everything is super matchy matchy!!! I'm a firm believer that outfits should flow and be cohesive and not necessarily match perfectly..

This is an example: I saw this picture on my Facebook newsfeed and instantly fell in love with the dress. The fact that it was paired with lavender shoes, a lavender peacoat, and a green clutch, just kills me a little. If it were up to me, I'd pair it with some silver strappy heels and and a flashy, edgy clutch to balance the super feminine dress. I'd also do chunky bracelets and soft earrings with my hair pulled back..

Now, it must be said that fashion is an interpretation of what you like. Everyone will have different opinions. This one is simply mine..

Bad hair day turned good

This morning my hair looked terrible! And just like most mornings, I had no time or patience to deal with it. I quickly sprayed some leave-in-conditioner (Infusium) to bring it back to life and tossled it with some mousse (Dove ultra moisture with curl booster- my fav mousse) and ran out the door. Somehow, it set into this fun and laid back hair style. The girls at my office keep asking about it so I think I'm getting the stamp of approval! What do you thing?

OOTD #10/ update on life

I apologize for not posting anything in a long time. I've been super busy with a new job.. Yes, A NEW JOB!! I love my job and learn new things everyday! It's so much fun and I'm lucky to work with an amazing group of people.

Biggest change for me other than my job is the fact that I am no longer single!! I am dating the greatest guy that makes me feel so special. More about him to come ;)
